AS employment perks go, Falmouth teenager Sarah Duckett's has to be among the best.
She won a cool £40,000 on a scratch card, which she had whimsically bought at the end of her shift at Threshers off licence last Friday, purely because it was a new type of game.
Sarah, 18, overcame odds of 2,899,158 to one to become the first jackpot winner of the new card, and is now planning to buy a flat with the cash.
She said: "It was amazing - absolutely unbelievable. I was shaking when I realised I'd won the jackpot.
"As soon as I scratched the ticket I couldn't believe I had won an had to get my work colleagues to look at the ticket. I felt quite dizzy and faint at the thought of all that money."
As soon as Sarah finished her shift she went out to celebrate with her boyfriend Mark, 21.
"We quickly grabbed something to eat and went out clubbing, but with all the excitement we went home early because we were so tired."
At the weekend Sarah was taken up to Preston in Lancashire to meet former England footballer Sir Bobby Charlton.
She posed for pictures holding a unique piece of history, a gilded bronze replica of the Jules Rimet Trophy - the old World Cup.
Now Sarah plans to use her windfall to buy a flat with Mark and says she is hoping to stay in the Falmouth area.
