Cyanide leak at Bideford factory

A FACTORY in Bideford was evacuated yesterday following a leak of potassium cyanide.
Alarms went off at the Tyco Electronics site at Gammaton Road just after 12.30pm after the leak in the plating workshop.
Firefighters in special suits rushed to the scene and people in surrounding properties were advised to keep their windows and doors shut.
The gas was cleared by the extraction system. There were no reports of any casualties.
