ANN Daniels, one of the world’s leading female polar explorers, will be sharing her extraordinary experiences in Exeter on Saturday.
Her talk at Exeter Central Library will be studded with pictures of stunning arctic landscapes.
Ann was part of the first women’s team to reach both poles on foot.
She has just returned from the Catlin Arctic Survey, a three-month pioneering expedition to help determine the lifespan of the Arctic Ocean’s sea ice cover.
As navigator, pathfinder and head of ice operations, she led the ice team for 74 days, making difficult decisions in the most extreme environment on earth.
The results of the expedition will be taken to the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen next month.
Her talk, Leading the Way at Forty Below, is being held will be held at 2pm in the Music Room at the library in Castle Street.
