OUTDOOR enthusiasts celebrated Wiveliscombe’s ‘Walkers are Welcome’ status on Saturday with a launch ceremony followed by three walks.
The first, a 23-mile hike along Wivey Way, was led by Martin Valuks, and was followed by two shorter walks.
Wiveliscombe has joined over 30 towns and villages across Britain that have demonstrated encouragement for walking the paths and trails in the countryside around them.
It is only the second town in the South-West to be awarded the status.
