A MAN was found lying in the middle of the road with serious head injuries at Whiddon Valley, Barnstaple at about 7.25 yesterday morning.

The 47-year-old man was discovered at the junction of Barton Road and Walnut Way.

A police spokesman said: “It appears that he had fallen from his electronically propelled pedal cycle but the exact circumstances of how he came to fall are unclear.”
