INTERNATIONAL Darwin Day is to be marked with a new web page of information about the scientist set up by Devon County Council.
Charles Darwin, born on February 12 1809, set sail from Plymouth on his famous voyage to the Galapagos Islands, which played a part in the development of his theory of evolution.
He also spent time in Torquay visiting relatives and fellow scientists.
