BISHOP’S Hull-based St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice has launched its annual Light up a Life appeal.
The initiative offers people the chance over the Christmas season to remember loved ones who have died while also supporting the work at St Margaret’s.
As part of the appeal there are several ecumenical services across Somerset, including St Mary Magdalene Church, Taunton, at 6.30pm on Tuesday, December 2; All Saint’s Church, Langport, 7pm on Thursday, December 4; St Andrew’s Parish Church, Minehead, 6.30pm, Wednesday, December 10.
Last year, £32,000 was donated through the Light up a Life appeal and many people recorded the name of loved ones in the Books of Remembrance at the hospices in Bishop’s Hull and Yeovil.
