SOUTH Petherton's David Hall is hoping to pull in the votes for their shot at £50,000 lottery funding.

The hall will be pitted against other projects across the area for The Big Lottery's People's Millions campaign on ITV.

The project will be aired on ITV today, Thursday, with a phone number for people to call and vote for their favourite project.

Petherton Arts Trust, the charity that owns and runs the Hall and its band of volunteers, is busy making preparations for the crucial phone number to be distributed on the big day.

The David Hall - a Grade II listed building that was formerly a Congregational church - has been a performing arts centre for the past 20 years and is renowned for its programme of folk, blues and acoustic music.

It is also home to the fortnightly Petherton Picture Show, theatre productions and other entertainment. Plus, it is used for private parties, leisure pursuits, club and society meetings, conferences and other community activities.
