TAUNTON-based Police Community Support Officer Sean Roper has earned a District Commander’s Commendation for his work in the Halcon area of the town.

He received the accolade for his involvement in various youth activities and community engagement initiatives such as the Lambrook Youth Club, Taunton East Boxing Club and the Community Football Training programme.

The projects aim to deter young people from crime by building stronger relationshiopsn with local officers and providing fun activities.

Supt Damian Kearney, who presented the award, praised PCSO Roper’s enthusiasm and his “hard work and determination” in helping to “build a safer, stronger neighbourhood”.
