Exeter holds animation showcase

ANIMATORS of all ages in the South-West are being invited to enter their films to win prestigious prizes at next year's Animated Exeter festival.

The region's finest entries will be screened alongside award-winning international talent during the city council-led two week festival which runs from February 9 to 21.

Councillor Stella Brock, Exeter City Council's Lead Councillor for Economy and Tourism, said: "Next year will be Animated Exeter's 10th year, and an exciting range of screenings and events is being planned to celebrate the anniversary.

“This unique festival brings a diverse range of exhibitions, workshops and the best animated films selected from around the world to Exeter during the February half term.

“As well as it's public face, Animated Exeter is also renowned for generating exciting projects with young people and schools in the area."

There are three categories, and a panel of industry professionals will choose the winners.

Screen Out Loud is open to all amateur or professional animators resident in the South-West. The winner will receive £500 donated by University College Falmouth, with a runner-up prize of animation software donated by Stop Motion Pro©. The deadline for film entries has been extended to October 17.
