Smash and grab at Exeter jewellers

POLICE in Exeter are appealing for witnesses after a “smash and grab” at a jeweller’s shop in the city.

The incident took place in Sidwell Street around 4.10pm yesterday.

A man smashed the window and grabbed a quantity of jewellery before making off on a bicycle.

The man is described as being aged either in his late 20s or early 30s, of stocky build, 6ft tall and with scruffy brown hair.

He was wearing a pink top and round glasses.

The BMX-style bicycle was red and orange and had black handlebars.
