Up-and-coming athletes in Bromsgrove can benefit from a coveted sports talent development programme.
Everyone Active's Sporting Champions scheme has supported over 5,000 athletes to date.
It has gained a reputation for bolstering local sports talent, including in Bromsgrove.
The initiative offers athletes access to over 230 of Everyone Active's leisure facilities free of charge, among them, the Bromsgrove Sport & Leisure Centre.
This year's participating athletes include English National Champion triathlete Kate Miller and regional gymnastics champion Daisy Mae Dowell.
The athletes will have advantage of guidance and mentorship from an all-star line-up of decorated Olympians and Paralympians, including Jennifer and Jessica Gadirova, Richard Kilty, Lauren Steadman, Maisie Summers-Newton, and Lutalo Muhammad.
GB sprint star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey is a new addition to the panel for 2024.
Participating athletes will be able to tap on their expertise on matters such as mental wellbeing, nutrition, and financial management during group mentoring sessions.
The programme has an ambassador in Olympic silver medallist, Colin Jackson, who said: "I'm passionate about nurturing young talent and the Sporting Champions scheme goes above and beyond in this mission. Seeing these future champions flourish fuels my excitement for what's to come."
The scheme's value is evidenced by its commitment of over £2million towards young athletes and its success at sending more than 30 athletes to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where they won five gold, two silver, and three bronze medals.
