Trains at Exeter St David's heading onto the South West Mainline have been affected at rush hour this morning (May 2) after a landslip at Crewkerne.

The incident on the South West Mainline was first reported at around 6.40am. National Rail have now cleared the line, which re-opened at around 9am. Disruption on the line is still expected until 11am.

The line was affected between Salisbury / Gillingham and Exeter St David's: and between London Waterloo and Honiton / Exeter St David's.

National Rail was reporting delays and cancellations for up to 20 minutes.

A spokesman for National Rail said: "We were informed earlier of a landslip between Axminster and Honiton. The issue has since been rectified and all lines have now reopened, but some services may be cancelled, delayed or revised whilst normal service resumes."

Tickets are being accepted on Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Exeter St David's, London Underground between London Paddington and London Waterloo.

A train replacement service was in place on the Stagecoach South West 1 between Pinhoe and Exeter, Stagecoach South West 4 between Cranbrook and Exeter St David's, Stagecoach South West 9 between Exeter and Honiton (long route via Sidmouth), Stagecoach South West X30 between Exeter and Honiton and Stagecoach South West 44 and 44A between Axminster - Honiton - Cranbrook - Exeter.
