MURDERED Taunton teenager Barnaby Webber has been described as a "hero" by his younger brother.
Charlie Webber's victim impact statement was played to Nottingham Crown Court this morning (Wednesday, January 24) at a sentencing hearing for Barnaby's killer.
Barnaby was fatally stabbed by Valdo Calocane on June 13 along with his university friend Grace O'Malley-Kumar and school caretaker Ian Coates.
Calocane has pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility.
The court heard yesterday how Barnaby tried to defend himself from the ground by kicking out at his attacker.
Ms O'Malley-Kumar was also praised in court for her efforts in trying to repel the attack.
In his video statement, Charlie Webber said: "When I was younger, he (Barnaby) was always the person I went to if I was scared of something or had a tough decision to make.
"When I first learned what happened I wanted to set the world on fire. I was so angry at everyone.
"He was my hero. He didn't just die a hero to the world, but he was a hero to me.
"On June 13, 2023, you (Calocane) didn't just take my brother from me and from those around me, but you also took a large part of me from myself."
The sentencing hearing is continuing.
