BISHOPS Lydeard Players are staging a Comedy and Variety production over two evenings later this month.
The first half of each evening will be a selection of acting and musical sketches by members of the youth group, aged six to 15, to showcase the talents of this lively team of up-and-coming Players.
The second half will be a one act comedy play ‘Alas Poor Geoffrey’ by Alistair Faulkner, performed by an all-female cast from the Adult Group.
The play is set in the 1960s.
A family gathers in a comfortable suburban home for the funeral of Geoffrey, who leaves behind grieving female relatives.
But it soon becomes clear that there is some disharmony in the household.
This is a comedy, full of intrigue, misunderstandings and family secrets.
You can catch the action in Bishops Lydeard Village Hall on Friday and Saturday October 20 and 21, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
A cash only bar is available at all performances.
Tickets are £8 for adults and £4 for under 14s via www.ticketebo.co.uk/bishops-lydeard-players or Facebook.
Both the Youth Group and the Adult Group welcome new members. Contact Bishop Lydeard Players on Facebook if you would like more information.
