THE Wellington branch of the Royal British Legion has donated a cheque for £500 to Dunkirk Memorial House, the legion's care home at Sandhill, Bishops Lydeard.
The cash was raised through The Friends of Wellington Park's May fayre and the town council's Jubilee Street Fair in June.
The money will be used for treats such as taking residents to Minehead in their new minibus or tucking into fish and chips.
Acting business manager Sandra Howsley said they are looking forward to having a Remembrance service where they can invite the residents' families, something which has not been done since the start of the pandemic.
