LAW firm Ashfords has taken on 13 recruits, including Sarah Gibson and Annika Gleeson in Taunton, who both achieved distinctions in their law exams.

Ashfords trainees carry out a two-year training contract and most sign up as qualified solicitors in one of the firm's offices.

The latest batch of trainees will work in the firm's offices in Taunton, Exeter, Bristol, Plymouth and Tiverton.

Ashfords Taunton Office managing partner Tony Mason said: "Having attracted so many highly qualified trainees this year is not only a coup for Ashfords but also shows our commitment and confidence in the future.

"Ashfords enjoys an excellent reputation in attracting and developing top quality legal recruits, so we are pleased to welcome Sarah and Annika to our Taunton office."

Ashfords training partner Charles Pallot said: "In 2008, we will be increasing our annual intake further to 15 trainees as part of the firm's overall expansion plans in several areas of the law."

Ashfords employs more than 450 staff, with 260 fee earners and 51 partners.
