CONTROVERSIAL plans for Vulcan Road in Minehead will be open for public inspection this week.

As reported in the County Gazette, West Somerset Council is hoping to sell the site and four supermarkets, Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury's and Asda, are interested.

Some of the money from the sale could help fund the council's contribution to the £50million New Horizons project.

Public exhibitions will be held at the former Ceci fashion shop in The Parade in Minehead, on Saturday, from 10am-5pm, on Sunday, from 10am-1pm, and next Friday, December 7, from 10am-5pm, to coincide with the farmers market.

The six options being considered will be displayed together with a plan showing how each development would be laid out and how much money each would make.

Feedback from the consultation will be collated in a Statement of Community Involvement and submitted to the council for scrutiny and deliberation.
