TODAY (Tuesday) is the day that Norton Fitzwarren Village Hall goes to the vote on the People's Millions on West Country TV's 6pm news programme.

Hall bosses hope to win £64,000 to refurbish and update the 19th Century building, taking it up to 21st Century standards.

Norton Fitzwarren is currently a massive demolition site as work gets underway to build 800 new homes, doubling the size of the village.

Updating the hall is an important aspect of Norton's redevelopment.

Mary Hayward, chairman of the Village Hall Management Committee, said: "A newly refurbished hall will boost the morale of current residents living under the demolition dust clouds and will attract new residents as a place where they can meet and get to know their new neighbours, integrating into the community.

"To win the money we need as many telephone votes as possible."

To support the project, call 08702-435502 and vote for Norton Fitzwarren.

Lines opened at 9am this morning through to 12 midnight.

Each call costs 10p and up to 10 calls can be made from any UK telephone.
