Police in Plymouth are investigating an attempted wounding offence which happened at about 1.30am on Wednesday August 29 in the Neath Road area of St Judes.
The male offender was disturbed in a rear garden by the 32-year-old female occupant of the house.
He was seen to have a kitchen knife in his hand and he lunged at her after she challenged him. He then ran away but the woman sustained a slight cut to her stomach.
The offender is described as a white male, aged 16 to 17 years old. He wore dark clothing with a black ski mask, which left only his brown eyes visible.
