TAUNTON MP Jeremy Browne has welcomed the decision by Taunton Deane Council to stop charging charities for the use of public parks.
The council decided to scrap the charges to charities in venues such as Vivary Park, Taunton, although businesses and private groups will still have to pay.
Mr Browne said: "Voluntary and charitable organisations make a fantastic contribution to our community.
"I am delighted that Taunton Deane Council is helping very deserving local charities by dropping the financial charges for using public parks."
