TIVERTON's festive period will officially start this weekend as the town counts down to the Christmas lights switch on.
The Saturday event, which will last through the day leading up to the switch on, will feature a host of festivities and entertainment.
There will be a Pheonix Lane funfair throughout the day, 2pm will see music and fun to the stage in Fore Street, the Lantern Parade will start at 5.50pm, and then the big switch on is set for 6.30pm.
The entertainment is set to continue through the evening.
The Lantern Parade, organised by the Tiverton Cooperative Learning Partnership, is due to set off from Lowman Green before parading around the town.
The identity of the switch on guest of honour is remaining under wraps, while previous personalities have included star of BBC's the Voice Adam Isaac in 2012, Councillor Sue Griggs and Tiverton man Trevor Maunder in 2014.
