HUNDREDS of primary school pupils descended on Killerton House to take part in an orienteering day on Monday.

Eileen Dillon, the learning officer at Killerton House, said: "It went really well. We had 177 pupils from eight schools, and despite the weather everyone kept running.

"It is really lovely to see lots of children running around and enjoying themselves on National Trust grounds."

The day was part of Killerton's Get Active Outdoors events.

Mrs Postlethwaite, class teacher at Kentisbeare Primary School, said: "It was great. We always enjoy going every year."

Miss Rice, teacher at Hemyock Primary School, said: "It was really enjoyable apart from being a bit wet.

"The children really enjoyed it and they got to use a different skill which is good."
