DOCTORS in Devon are pleading with the public to help ease pressure on local NHS services over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Dr David Jenner, a clinical chair for NHS Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Minor illnesses and injuries can be treated quickly and conveniently with a well-stocked medicine cabinet.

“Not only does this help ease pressure on the local NHS, it also means less time spent waiting for treatment.”

NHS Devon has issued advice so the public are prepared for closures of GP practices and pharmacies, including requesting repeat prescriptions in advance and checking opening times.
