SUPPORT for the Save the Tivoli cinema campaign is growing with local companies getting on board the campaign trail.
Publicity of the Tiverton cinema's plight has been helped by local companies offering their services to print leaflets, posters, and to help market an online campaign.
Many other local organisations including Bolham Primary School in Tiverton (pictured), are now displaying campaign posters and the mayor and Tiverton Town Council have given the group free use of the New Hall for public meetings.
A monetary donation has also been received from Tiverton Civic Society.
However, the group still needs support to save the 75-year-old cinema and any other companies that are able to add their support are asked to contact the campaign through their website - www.savethetivoli.co.uk There is only four months to go until the cinema's fate is decided.
But campaigner Bryn Williams is hopeful the landlords Eastmond and Hamlin can see the potential in keeping the cinema running.
"We have been absolutely staggered by the response.
"We are trying to keep the profile of the cinema high.
"There is still strong concern, however, there is no doubt the number of people coming to the cinema has increased."
The petition to save the cinema from closure has now mounted up to more than 2,250 signatures and the campaign leaders are hoping the response will help reassure the landlords that there is a future for the Tivoli if it can be retained as a cinema.
