A TIVERTON-based builders merchant has selected Prostate Cancer UK as its chosen charity - and the first fundraising activity raised £526.63.

Staff from the Tiverton branch swapped their hard hats for helmets on Friday, June 19 and spent the day cycling on a gym bike in return for donations.

The event formed part of RGB’s participation in the ‘Health & Safety Week 2015’, which saw the builders merchant highlighting some of the industry’s health risks and ways in which accidents and injuries can be prevented.

Geoff Dobbs, Branch Manager at RGB Tiverton, said: “A big thank you to everyone who made a donation to our cycle challenge, it’s very much appreciated.

“This is a great start to our fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK and we look forward to holding further events to raise money for such a great charity.”

Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men’s health charity and aims to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. More information about the charity can be found by visiting – www.prostatecancer.org
