MORE than 1,200 women have so far signed up to take part in what is going to rank among North Devon's biggest ever home-grown charity events, Nightwalk.
Macmillan Cancer Support and North Devon Hospice are both set to benefit to the tune of thousands of pounds as a result of the event, organised by the charities.
And all those women taking part can be assured that their hard-earned sponsorship money will stay in North Devon and be used for the benefit of local people when they are faced with hard times.
So far 1,234 walkers have signed up to take part in the women-only event along the Tarka Trail on April 28 - which was launched only two months ago.
There are still two weeks to go before the event.
And as North Devon embraces the challenge, determined women from across the area are limbering up and getting in training for the 11-mile moonlit walk.
