HOMELESS black cats are popping up in a range of unlikely holiday snaps in a bid to make them stand out from the crowd.

Blue Cross pet charity, based in Tiverton, has virtually transported some of its most unwanted pets into new and exciting locations to make them stick out to potential new owners - although despite the exotic settings, all they really want is a new home.

The charity decided to try the new way to highlight black cats who often struggle to find homes, after a volunteer hit upon the idea and photoshopped one of their longest staying residents - black cat Delilah who has been homeless for nearly a year - into some new and unlikely locations, including the Houses of Parliament and at the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Siobhan Martin, a volunteer at the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Tiverton, said: “Delilah is such a lovely cat but she’s had no luck finding a new home.

“As black cats don’t show up so well in photographs, I thought giving her a change of location would help people to notice her.

“I had great fun coming up with the different locations she might be dreaming about visiting too.”

Black cats take on average at least a week longer to find home than more colourful kitties and Delilah has been searching for a home for over 350 days - nearly ten times longer than average.

When she isn’t visiting Italian monuments or taking selfies outside Westminster, nine-year-old Delilah loves playing in the garden, followed by cuddling up on the sofa in the evening.
