Action packed half term at Devon's libraries

A PUPPET show, pirate themed stories and crafts, Chinese New Year celebrations and a chance to see a working model of a lighthouse are all on offer in Devon's libraries this half term.

Devon County Council's Libraries Service is once again staging a packed week of events to keep youngsters occupied.

Many of the sessions are free although booking is essential for some.

In Mid Devon, children can draw dinosaurs with illustrator Woody Fox at Tiverton Library on Tuesday, February 20 from 2pm-3pm (free).

Uffculme Library is hosing Lighthouse Fortnight where children (up to 16 years-old) can see a working lighthouse model, borrow lighthouse books and take part in the lighthouse quiz- with the chance of winning a £10 book token.

Executive member for culture, Councillor Sheila Hobden, said: "Every half term our libraries staff work hard to come up with creative ideas to keep children occupied, and this half term is no exception."
