TIVERTON Golf Club is to stage a second Queen Tribute Show in April after the initial date sold out within two weeks.

Queen II, a Sheffield-based band who have been touring the UK and Europe since 2009, will be performing for club members and friends on Friday, April 24, but demand has been such that the club has announced a second date with the band on Saturday, April 25, which is open to everyone.

Queen II have played a New Year’s Eve concert in Moscow, at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix and at other sporting venues, such as Northampton Saints Rugby Club and Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park stadium.

The band features as Freddie Mercury, John Emsley as Brian May, Brad Mitchell as Roger Tay-lor and Lee Feltham as John Deacon.

They will perform Queen favourites including We Will Rock You, Radio Gaga, I Want To Break Free, We Are The Cham-pions and Bohemian Rhapsody.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Bohemian Rhapsody, the third highest selling single of all time in the UK.

Jim Bray, social committee chairman at the golf club, said: “We were delighted that the Friday event sold out so quickly and were keen to book a second date to give more people the opportunity to exp-erience Queen II.

“Our tribute shows have been a success in recent years, including tributes to Elvis, The Beatles and Take That, capped by two sell-out ABBA events.

“We look forward to showing local people what a great venue we have and that we have so much more to offer than one of the best golf courses in Devon.”

The doors open at 7pm and food will be available until 9.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 and are available from the club bar. Alternatively, call Jim Bray on 07425-133606 or email him at tgcsocial@hotmail.co.uk The club now offers social membership for £30 per person or £50 for a couple. For details call 01884-252187 or email admin@tivertongolfclub.co.uk
