NEIL Parish, MP for Tiverton and Honiton, has welcomed the news that Axe Valley Swimming Association will receive up to £50,000 for the Flamingo Pool Aqua Gym project through the Big Lottery Fund’s People’s Millions 2014 initiative.

The project is one of 76 projects who won the public vote in the People’s Millions television vote-off on Tuesday 25th November.

Neil Parish had supported the Flamingo Pool’s bid for funding and encouraged people to call the hotline and vote. He also recorded a supportive video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0Qy6KvkQUI

In a letter to the Flamingo Pool Neil Parish MP said: “Congratulations on receiving £50,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s People’s Millions 2014.

"My office and I worked on hard asking people to quite rightly support this marvellous project for the Aqua Gym at the Flamingo Pool.

"I often swim in the pool and I look forward to in future being able to go to the Aqua Gym. This will be a great asset to Axminster and the surrounding villages.

“Congratulations again to you all for all the hard work that you put into the project and also in getting people to endorse the Flamingo Pool Aqua Gym.”
