HOMEOWNERS in Devon can take their festive season holiday without breaking the bank this year. According to data from TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals, many Devon homeowners may be able to substantially offset the cost of a trip by renting their home as holiday rental accommodation through TripAdvisor while they are away.

TripAdvisor data shows rental rates are potentially lucrative over the festive period (20th December to January 4th), with average rates in Devon ranging from £477 for a one bedroom up to £1,029 for a four bedroom home. The rental income on a two-bedroom property for example, could cover the cost of nine days’ holiday rental accommodation in Majorca.

“Holiday accommodation over the peak season can be extremely expensive, but you can ease the pressure on the purse-strings by renting out your home while on holiday yourself,” commented James Kay, TripAdvisor spokesperson. “It’s a great way to offset the high cost of a holiday, and in some cases, Devon homeowners may even return with change to spare.”

TripAdvisor lists more than 630,000 holiday rentals globally. As the world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor provides homeowners access to a vast and global audience of travellers. Homeowners can list their property for free on TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals, as well as TripAdvisor website holidaylettings.co.uk, and pay only when they receive a booking. No subscription fee or long-term commitment is required.

For more information on how to list a property for free, go to www.tripadvisor.co.uk/rentals and click on ‘Set up your free listing’, which re-directs to holidaylettings.co.uk, a TripAdvisor website, to complete the listing. Properties will appear on both holidaylettings.co.uk and TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals.
