DEVON and Somerset fire crews have been tackling a barn fire in Clayhidon, Cullompton, since 4am this morning.
Two fire appliance from Wellington, two fire appliances Taunton and the water carrier from Bridgwater arrived at the incident at 3.56am.
Fire crews confirmed two barns well alight - all stock had been removed from the barns prior to the arrival of the Fire Service.
Fire crews have carried out a survey of the River Culm and there appears to be fuel contamination in the watercourse.
Fire crews have requested booms from Taunton Fire Station to dam and contain the spillage.
The Environment Agency have been aware of this contamination.
