NEARLY 800,000 working parents in the South of England (35%) are cutting back on buying food in a bid to help pay their rent or mortgage, new research from Shelter reveals today.

Shockingly, the YouGov poll of working families also found that almost one in ten parents in the South - equivalent to more than 200,000 people - had gone to the extreme of skipping meals to help pay for their home.
