HARD work has paid off for one Tiverton childminding service after it received a glowing report from inspection board OFSTED.
Tinks Minding in Tiverton was rated as “outstanding” in a July inspection, with the report stating that children “relish the exciting and rich experiences provided by the childminder in the inviting and well-resourced surroundings.”
It went on to say that they also “eagerly respond to her high expectation” and that “the childminder and her assistant use highly skilled teaching methods in every situation to maximise learning opportunities and as a result, children make rapid progress.”
Lucinda Dyer, who runs the childminders, said: “I have been registered since 2009 & have trained very hard completing the new level 3 diploma 'children and young people's workforce' at PETROC college alongside working 50+ hours a week minding. Amy Marshall, my assistant, has also studied a level 3 childcare course at PETROC.
“To gain an outstanding grading is amazing - we have worked so hard setting up our setting, playroom, sleep areas etc.
“It isn't easy to get outstanding and it shows how hard we have worked.
“We were inspected in September 2009 and achieved a good grading by OFSTED - we have worked hard over the years to build the business, both through our personal training and development, our work environment and our resources.
“On July 31 we were inspected again and are delighted to have been graded outstanding.”
