CHILDREN in Tiverton have been making the most of the good weather by staying active this summer.

Tiverton Youth Centre and Premier Sport have been laying on a series of multisports days for kids between 5 and 12 years, encouraging them to stay fit and healthy during the holidays.

Organiser Andrew Overhill said: “Dodgeball is always a favourite as well as bulldog, swimming and running. As you can imagine there's never any problem with competitiveness in the children.

“We have a structure to the days but if they want to do something in particular or are really enjoying one activity during the day, we'll continue it for longer.”

In the three weeks the club has been running it's been popular with local children.

Andrew said: “The numbers are well into double figures now and they really enjoy the range of activites that we offer.”

The club, which is run by Premier Sport, features a mix of team sports like football, cricket and rounders with indiviual activities such as athletics, archery and tampolining. They also give the children a chance to try exciting new sports like ultimate frisbee and American football.

The sports holiday club will continue to run throughout the summer every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
