Police in Torbay are appealing for witnesses after two people were injured during an aggravated burglary in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to an address in Church Street, Paignton, at 1.12am today, Tuesday, August 5, following reports that a group of men had forced their way into a property.

They were believed to be in possession of a number of weapons including a knife.

An ambulance attended to treat a man and woman who suffered minor facial injuries after being punched in the head.
