BATHED in glorious July sunshine, the inaugural Somersault Festival saw nearly 15,000 people flock to Castle Hill in North Devon for the most chilled out event in the festival calendar.

The weekend's laid back vibes went effortlessly hand-in-hand with a stellar line-up, as surf-folk stars Jack Johnson and Ben Howard stole the show on Saturday and Sunday night.

As well as music, Somersault offered a number of exciting excursions - from surfing lessons to rock climbing adventures, this was the ultimate summer-camp experience.

Festival organisers Tim Harvey and John Empson said:

“Somersault launched in a manner that exceeded even our own most optimistic expectations. We are delighted that Somersault began in such spectacular style this weekend.

"The festival was awash with golden sunshine, magical performances and the kind of audience reaction that, as festival organisers, we could have only dreamed of.

"We look forward to announcing next year’s dates in the next few weeks and our sincerest thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s event.”
