EXETER Big Noise Chorus (BNC) choirs bring their joint Summer celebration concert Sun’s Out  on July 26.

Launched in 2011, the two Exeter choirs have grown exponentially in versatility and range, showcasing great musical diversity and continually widening repertoires, performing a range of Pop, Soul, World, Motown and Rock.

Speaking about BIG Noise, Colin Rea, BNC founder, is clearly proud of the choirs’ musical and charity achievements.

“BNC is not just a Community Choir, but a truly unique concept across the South West, in that we’re choirs FOR our communities. Singing”, he says, “ is our craft and one that we try continuously to perfect but our aim is to give back what and when we can, and BNC gives back by supporting local charities.”

This Summer concert is no exception in the choirs’ charity calendar, the fortunate beneficiary this time being Devon Young Carers.

Devon Young Carers is an organisation which has a specialist team of trained adults working with young carers, addressing the needs of the young people who provide care and support to other family members, primarily a parent or a sibling.

Young carers are put in a position of great responsibility sometimes at a staggeringly young age, dealing with situations that many adults would find a challenge.

These children and young people have to cope in extremely difficult circumstances, often not only looking after their relative but also helping to bring up siblings and run a household.

Colin has the final word : “A truly worthy cause and one BNC Exeter is very keen to support. Did you know that to date, the BNC choirs in Exeter, Torbay and Plymouth have together raised £40,000 in just five years for local charities! How amazing is that!”

So, a great evening awaits bursting with BNC verve and toe-tapping tunes to leave you with the spirit of Summer in your soul!!

Saturday, July 26, 7.30pm Venue : West Exe College, Hatherleigh Road, EXETER Tickets at £7 ; 5-14year olds £4; under 5s free
