A CREDITON schoolgirl spent an afternoon in the company of print industry professionals after earning a place in the final of the ninth annual PrintIT! Awards.
Queen Elizabeth’s, Crediton, student Charlotte Ridley-Rundle, 14, attended the Technology Pro Skills PrintIT! event with her Design & Technology teacher Phil Chudley.
The awards were held at the Xerox Innovation Centre, London, and attracted a host of industry figures, print professionals and finalist schools.
The event celebrated the hard work and achievements of students who took part in this year’s PrintIT! competition.
Charlotte, who was among 30 finalists whittled down from more than 3,000, was nominated for Best Free Design.
The competition was tough and although she was not overall winner for the category, Charlotte achieved a spot in the top three.
Charlotte said: “I am very happy with what I’ve achieved. It’s been an honour to attend such a high-status event. I loved every moment of the day.”
Phil Chudley, soon to be head of technology at QE, said: “Congratulations to Charlotte – this was an extremely tough competition and Charlotte did very well to accomplish as much as she did”.
