A BAND of volunteers from Cullompton have been doing their bit for the local community by helping to keep the town's recreational space maintained.

The volunteers went to work at the Cullompton Community Association fields to carry out a wide range of jobs.

This included cleaning the litter bins, cutting the grass and filling in hollows with top soil donated from a nearby construction project.

The events are being held throughout the summer on the fourth Wednesday of the month up to and including September, with the next event on Wednesday July 23, 6pm.
