Police are appealing for information after a ‘road rage’ type incident in Plymouth.

A spokesman said that a car was damaged by a motorcyclist on Sunday at around 3.30pm on Ringmore Way close to the Shaldon Crescent junction in the West Park area.

It is claimed that the rider of a black Yamaha 125 motorcycle was threatening and abusive to the driver and the passenger of a silver Ford Mondeo. It is alleged the rider also caused damage to the Mondeo.

The motorcyclist is described as a white youth, aged around 17 to 20 years old. He was medium build and around 5’ 8” tall and was wearing a red helmet.

A police spokesman said: “We’re keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed this incident or possibly just before or after the alleged incident took place. We’d also like to hear from anyone who thinks they may know who the suspect is from the description.

“Road rage incidents are taken very seriously – they often happen very quickly and thankfully on this occasion no person was injured. Aggressive drivers and riders who seem to think it’s ok to be abusive to other road users, with threats of violence or sometimes by using violence is simply not acceptable and we are determined to bring these people to justice.”
