A 20 year old man from the Plymouth area died at the weekend after coming off his motorcycle as he approached a roundabout on the A379 at Aveton Gifford.

The crash took place at around 4.53pm on Saturday 7 June.

The man was riding an Aprilia 125cc motorcycle from Modbury going towards Aveton Gifford. It is understood the young man was riding with two other friends.

The rider was taken by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for treatment but later died from his injuries. His family have been informed.

An examination of the incident took place and officers from the serious collision investigation unit are now carrying out a full investigation. If anyone witnessed this incident please contact them on 101 quoting log number 647 of 14 June 2014.
