PEOPLE were evacuated from a leisure centre in Okehampton after reports of a carbon dioxide leak.
Fire crews were dispatched at 9.25pm this evening (Friday) where upon arrival at Simmons Park, Okehampton, they discovered several reports of leakage in the sports area.
Reports suggest the leak source may have come from the monitoring equipment in the plant room.
Crews evacuated all persons within the building before making the necessary checks using specialised equipment.
A thorough investigation was carried out and found that the readings were zero. An engineer has been arranged to meet with on site staff in the morning.
