WEST Country farmers and building contractors can now source locally-produced guttering and purlins following the launch of new ranges by United Roofing Products.

The family-run business has added galvanised steel guttering and purlin systems to its comprehensive roofing and cladding collection, all manufactured on site in Cullompton, Devon.

Tailored to customers’ specifications, the top quality metal products are manufactured with minimum waste, and are prepared to the highest specification to maximise service life.

“We can now make galvanised steel guttering in lengths of up to 10m, which means fewer joints and opportunities for leakage,” says John Dominy, director of URP. “The guttering is also pre-punched so it’s easy and quick to install. And with different thickness options up to 3mm, it has a service life of 20-30 years.”

The steel purlins are also made to customer specification, supplied cut-to-length and fully pierced. “We have a range of Zed, Cee and Eaves beams available, with sections capable of up to 12m clear span,” says Mr Dominy.

“Because we manufacture the products ourselves, we can offer expert advice and a personal, quick service for our customers.”

After a 10-year break from the Devon County Show, United Roofing Products - which also makes the popular Highlight perforated wall sheeting and AntiCon metal roofing - is once again exhibiting at the event.

“Having visited as smallholders in recent years, we felt that it was returning to more to its agricultural roots,” says Mr Dominy. “That gives us a better opportunity to showcase our products to the right market – and to meet up with old friends and clients over some local food and drink.”
