TIVERTON woman Susie Rowe swapped her hard hat for a bra and sneakers last weekend when she walked the Moonwalk in London.

Susie, who works for property developer Devon-shire Homes, joined five friends to raise money and awareness for the ‘Walk the Walk’ breast cancer charity, which has raised £92million since its inception.

The Moonwalk is a unique event which sees women tackle either a full or half-marathon course wearing decorated bras to raise money for breast cancer research.

Each year, 15,000 women enter the charity race, and Susie was delighted to have been one of them.

She said: “We walked a marathon in the cold wind and rain, which was hard work, but great fun.

“It took us 11 hours walking through the night.

“A friend in our team has had breast cancer and a mastectomy, and her story inspired us all to take part.

“I’ve almost reached my fundraising target of £1,000.”

Susie practised for the 26.2-mile walk by regularly walking home from Tiver-ton to Hemyock, which took her over three hours.
