POPULAR comedian Lee Hurst brings his sell-out national tour to Comedy Hall in Tiverton with his half-improvised show 'Things That Make You Go Aaarggh!!!' on May 17.

The gloriously politically incorrect mercurial performer has travelled the length and breadth of Britain finding out exactly what winds people up, and he makes it the core of his second act.

Anything is fair game, from people barging in front of you while queuing, to dogs, to the habits of your neighbours. All of it is comedy gold in the hands of this peerless improviser.

Hurst first became known as the football ignorant guest on 'They Think it's All Over' (BBC1) from the nineties, 'Have I Got News For You' (BBC1/Dave), and has appeared more recently as a member of the panel on Channel 5's 'The Wright Stuff'.

He began his working life as a telephone engineer but then spent years touring and on-stage at his own Bethnal Green based comedy club.

“It doesn’t matter if you caught Lee anywhere in the country on this tour. The fantastic thing about this show is that it’s based on the audience’s pet hates so it’s different every time,” says Steve Lodge who runs the Comedy Hall.

“He’ll have you doubled up during the first half telling you about his gripes so that you’ll be willing to tell him about yours”.

Hurst got his break in comedy as the warm-up man on 'Have I Got News For You' on which he later guested. He tried out as a warm-up man on 'They Think It's All Over' and was so funny that the producers signed him up as a regular panellist.

He's also appeared on 'The What In The World', 'The Stand Up Show' and created 'Bring Me the Head of Light Entertainment' for Channel 5.

Lee Hurst is at the Comedy Hall in Tiverton on May 17 2014 at 8pm. Tickets cost £16 from www.comedyhall.co.uk or the TCAT Box Office on 01884 233741.
