Police are trying to trace a man who is alleged to have assaulted a driver in Plympton.

The incident started around 6.50pm on Saturday (29 March) when the man was seen running around in the middle of Moorland Road.

A female driver was forced to stop her car and he threw himself on the bonnet creating a large dent in the vehicle.

A few minutes later the man was again seen dancing in the same road causing a couple to stop their car. He eventually moved onto the pavement but became verbally abusive to the couple and punched the window.

The male passenger got out of the vehicle and said he was calling the police. The victim, in his 20s and from Plympton, was then punched once in the back of the head and knocked to the ground.

The offender then walked off towards The Ridgeway with a woman. A second woman then approached the victim in an aggressive manner and told him not to call police before going off to join the pair.

Police are seeking the suspect who is described as white, aged 18-25, around 5ft 9ins to 6ft 1in tall, and of thin build. He had dark brown short hair that was gelled at the front and was wearing a grey top with a dark stripe across the front plus dark blue trousers.

The woman is described as white, aged 18-25, around 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build and with light brown hair.

The second woman was white, aged 18 to 25, of large build with dark brown hair; she was wearing a blue fleece jacket.

Anyone who witnessed the incidents or recognises the description of the offender or his companions is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555111, quoting crime reference EP/14/287 or EP/14/288.
