Four teenagers have been arrested after an alleged knifepoint robbery in Westonfields, Totnes at the weekend.

Local officers, a police dog handler and the police helicopter searched the area for the male suspects, and as a result all four suspects were located nearby.

Two were found on Berry Pomeroy Road and the other two were located near the Town Lake Fisheries.

The four suspects, from Torquay, allegedly approached two local teenage boys at around 00.30am on Saturday 29 March outside St John’s School.

One of the offenders claimed to have a knife and demanded that one of the boys, aged 17, hand over his wallet and phone. After handing over his phone the suspects ran off.

All four suspects, one aged 14 and three aged 17, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on police bailed until 16 May.

A quantity of suspected drugs was also found. One of the 17-year-olds was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs and received a police caution.

No-one was injured as a result of the incident.
