PRESIDENT of the Exe Valley Rotary Club, Martin Stevens presenting a cheque for £500 to Keith Cleeve, chairman of Halberton Scout HQ Improvements Committee.
The money will go towards the refurbishment of the Scout Hut.
The improvement project involves the replacement of windows and doors, the floor, providing better disabled access and toilets, and replacement of the central heating.
The project will cost an estimated £20,000 and so far the sub-committee has raised £14,500, thanks to the generosity of local donations and benefactors.
Keith Cleeve said: “The hut is in an ideal location for general community events other than being the HQ for the Tiverton District Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers.” Anyone interested in contributing towards this worthwhile cause to contact him on 01884257942.
